DJ Amerrickan was formed around 2001 while experimenting with simple computer programs. Being a poet, He decided to add poetry. He began to start selling his music out of cars and at work, but realized he wasn't reaching a big enough audience. So he turned to the internet around 2002. Its been all uphill from there. First he posted his music on different sites until he found a site called vitaminic.com.
It took a while to catch on but after like 6 months, he took off, he started getting lots of downloads, topping the charts, getting the spotlight for different genres of music. From there everything took off, he got lots of exposure over the internet and got some record labels interested in him, but they ultimately decided not to sign him because he was too experimental. Its been a joyride from there.
Its a constant process to find exactly the right style of music to go with poetry, so its constantly a learning process but after 4 years, he's starting to find the right style. His poetry has been published around 11 times and he has his own book out. So from now on he calls it the "Amerrickan Revolution"
